Introduction

Verde Retreat provides the freshest and tastiest guilt-free food for busy people to keep them happy and healthy, saving them time with a quick delivery right to their office or home.
I took the initiative for this non-commercial project during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic when a significant number of restaurants faced restrictions on serving customers due to legislation in Washington state. These challenging times were a motivation to explore how new technologies can assist traditional businesses.

• Provide a system for order customization.
• Be able to track delivery & time on a live map.
• Be able to get feedback from customers about food and services.
• Be able to cancel or change delivery address after an order is placed.

• Zip location fill-out to make sure it's an area that delivery is offered.
• Live map to track delivery status.
• Easy check out platform and option of third party check out pages like PayPal etc.
• Account setup and dashboard for customers to keep payment information and reward points.
• Toggle buttons for customization of the food and beverage.
• Video embed capabilities for some information about Verde Retreat.
• Preview order page with pictures before check out.
• Social media links for customers to share their experience.
• After order communication chat box for inaccurate or incomplete orders.
• Rating system and testimony from happy customers.

Steps

Verde Retreat Online Restaurant was created during during the COVID-19 outbreak with the intention of helping restaurants continue their operations maintaining profitability and keeping their staff employed.
The next steps will be conducting usability tests and developing a UI template that any restaurant can easily adapt to.
